After one year label manager and DJ Ondrej Psyla returns with a new compilation, Midnight Storm, the fifth from his label Mystical Waves Records. Ondrej carefully selected each track over the last eight months and now it is time to share the results with fans of psytrance culture. You can look forward to two downtempo tracks and seven dance floor bangers ranging across the darker end of the full-on spectrum. This set was recorded live at Spacecamp Psyfari in Iowa, USA, on the morning of August 24th, 2014, featuring 100% Creative Commons-licensed music from Ektoplazm. I began at sunrise, transitioning from a night of hard and heavy hi-tech into full-on psychedelic morning trance by the very end, touching on darkpsy, forest, twilight, new school Goa trance, and a hint of Suomi-style madness along the way. As always this set was completely unscripted, a product of the moment. I let intuition be my guide and this adventurous romp through the many styles of upbeat psytrance is the result! Mindfulness is the third release from Psyalaska Tribe, a new label from Slovakia that grew out of a community of organizers, DJs, producers, and deco artists dating back to 2011. Chors (Vladimir Adamek) is a psytrance producer and multi-instrumentalist from the Slovakian town of Piestany, one of the centers of psychedelic culture in this country. His music is characterized by night-time psychedelic sounds and pumping bass lines accompanied by trippy noises to make dance floors fly.
