Apocalyptic Fear is the first release from Grotesque Records, a Serbian label founded in 2009 by KanibaL HolokausT and Redy. Their debut offering is a diverse exploration of the dark and menacing side of psytrance from the twilight style of full-on to industrial-strength darkpsy. Mastered by Wizack Twizack with artwork by Ana Bracic (PuppetPlay) and Alex Mothra.

some great tracks on the 1st half, the Talpa track is beautiful
then mysterious vibes from Aremakki, kind of blunt production but great ideas and ambience
The Chemical Spoon and Ocelot tracks are top notch straight up darkpsy
the 2nd half of the album is unfortunately kind of a bludgeoning mess
just because the tracks are hardcore and evil does not mean they don’t need any structure or intelligent layering…
i never liked the music of Kannibal Holokaust for that reason, not much subtlety
Redy “membrana” is a noisy glitchfest where the effects and rhythms are pretty random. I like this idea of ‘industrial’ darkpsy but I think this song does not hold together. see the Red Rose Fleschettte album for something awesome like this
