Caleidisco is San Francisco Bay Area experimental producer Nicholas Gathany (formerly known as Coloringbook), bringing us the sequel to the warp-drive kawaii roller coaster that is Candy Island. Marshmallow Moon is the second installment in the Caleidisco’s Braindrip series, a 60-minute trip of non-stop sample-delic madness and euphoria. Putting good use to the wide breadth of the musical spectrum by layering, mixing, sampling, and splicing our way on a magical voyage to new worlds, Marshmallow Moon is a synesthesial celebration of future sound and color. This freestyle sound influenced by future bass, dofflin, nu-disco, future funk, psybient, house, and much more. Mastered by ZyzzyWorld Masters with artwork by Caleidisco.

Only listened to the first song, but enjoyed the tribute to Kraftwerk at around the 2:28 mark. Can’t wait to see if there are other tributes in the other songs!

Great comments, thank you all!! I make virtually nothing from this work so please consider donating to keep me creating. I try to release new music videos regularly on youtube and facebook as well. The magnum opus “Infinite Variations of Black & White” is already on caleidisco.bandcamp.com and Braindrip 3 is halfway recorded and hopefully not far off.

Just want to let everyone know that there is an audio error on track 4 “Omnipresent Navigation Unit” that went undetected and is on this original release. You can free download & replace track 4 with the updated fixed version at this link:

:) Also there is a cool music video released today for this song @ https://youtu.be/soD_9WSipfU

I love Downtempo, Experimental, Progressive… but slowly everything sounds the same, sadly… And suddenly… Caleidisco! Finally something not very serious and bumptious. I don’t know how much acid should I take to make my music sounds as good and what’s important nicely balanced. Okay, sometimes it sounds like “Christmas cake” but on another hand what the hell, it is “Christmas”! :) This music is like freshly done milkshake with inteligent ingrediants.

This is Nicholas Gathany aka Caleidisco. I currently have a kickstarter running to continue making music and finish a new project called “Let There Be Color!”. Watch the teaser trailer, check it out, and I hope you’ll consider backing to make another Ektoplazm Caleidisco release possible. Thank you!
