Welcome to Zilk Road, the second episode of the Dreaml4nd saga, continuing where the original album Dreamland left off. Here we find a world of strong emotions and states of mind inspired heavily by Japanese game worlds, old school Goa trance, and modern psytrance. Beginning on the ancient silk road with flying carpets, the journey twists and turns through psychedelic forests before ending up in a different universe. The style is highly melodic and the artist engages in several experimental modulations, occasionally even breaking out of the usual 4/4 time signature. Elements from multiple psytrance subgenres combine to form something rich and new. If you enjoy this album you can support it on Bandcamp! All tracks written and produced by Golan Lampi AKA DJ Aegonox (Helsinki, Finland). Final Fantasy Giant is a cover/remix, original track is “Babil Giant” from Final Fantasy IV game (1991), originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Mastered by Colin Bennun at Stooodio Mastering. hahaha. lol @ at the guy who said “trance for 10 year old kids”. it kind of is, but in a good way! sparking magickal melodies w/ very vivid bright sound.
highly inspired by video games / chiptunes, sure, but the production is actually quite good. nice mastering and bassline compression. dare I say it’s got more harmonic/chordal content than your average psy?
