Rose Red Flechette – Syzygy

Free Music | Darkpsy, Experimental, Psycore | August 25, 2013 | Released by  | Posted by Søren Nordström

Rose Red Flechette – Syzygy
01 - The Daedalus Effect (150 BPM)
02 - Unnatural Growth (155 BPM)
03 - Measured By Ignorance (175 BPM)
04 - Scorpionic (185 BPM)

What started as an industrial/rhythmic noise project has grown into a full blown hybrid consisting of punchy kicks, growling bass-lines, clanging snares, dark ambiances, industrial percussion, distorted/glitchy rhythms, and heavily syncopated yet meticulously arranged beat structures. Drawing upon a love for broken beats, breakdowns, and high BPMs, Rose Red Flechette delivers a unique brand of frantic, unnerving psychedelic industrial music. We constantly seek to merge the technological with the organic. Civilization is evidence of this, and only through the lens of “civilization” do the darker perversions of human nature become so abhorrent. As technology evolves, we devolve, becoming pets of our own machines. Rose Red Flechette’s sound is an ode to this conflict, merging industrial and noize sounds with psychedelic styles, and is both a celebration of depravity, destruction, dissonance, contradiction, and aggression as fuel for creativity, and a stimulant for the mind, providing a uniquely cathartic experience for listeners. Artwork by Pixiline Paradigm, mastering by Priapizzm.

  • Psygnosis says:

Is that the voice of Alan Wake in the first track ? :)

  • Rose Red Flechette says:

That would be Adam Jensen, the main character from Deus Ex, a cyberpunk video game from a couple years ago. =] I forget the voice actor’s name.

  • Littlerave says:

No, it’s Elias Toufexis voice acting Adam Jensen in Deus Ex : Human Revolution. It’s taken from one of the Game’s endings ;)

  • Littlerave says:

Ah, you beat me to it (but of course you knew). Should have refreshed my page before posting :)

  • Rose Red Flechette says:

Fucking amazing game. Inspirational too, obviously :P

  • Littlerave says:

Indeed! And although I’m usually not that much into this kind of Psy I must admit it’s a very interesting track you created there.

  • hektogazm says:

is this a joke? no, seriously. this must be for shitz n gigz

  • jLaw says:

I played only the first Deus Ex, because for newer ones my pc is too slow. But I recognise this voice too.

  • Rose Red Flechette says:

Glad folks are enjoying the EP =] Stay tuned. Full-length ought to be out before the end of the year. Much more focused and concept-driven, harsher, and darker.

  • Psygnosis says:

Ah yes , Deus Ex .. One of the best games ever !!

On topic : Great release , dark sounds which I like very much. Love it !
Great use of voice sampling ;)
Looking forward to the full release in the near future !

  • Possibly the best Ekto-release this year. <3

If your next one is going to be even harder, I'm probably going to die.

  • soma_junkie says:

I dig this release. It’s a lot of fun. :)

  • Nymphomania says:

rich in ideas but lacking in production. your noise sounds are digital, one diimensional and cardboardy. Try running that shit through a guitar amp?

  • Rose Red Flechette says:

I intentionally go for the digital feel. Contrasts with the more organic psychedelic elements and reverb-heavy bits. I know what you mean though. Distortion robs sounds of a lot of bass and even some high end harmonics so I EQ certain mid frequencies out of those bits on purpose cause I just prefer how it sounds. I’m very influenced by more analogue-oriented industrial/rhythmic noize artists so I get where you’re coming from. Anyway as my first EP I realize its far from perfect. I learn new techniques with every single track; the full-length is in mastering right now =] Very excited to take everyone on a full-fledged ride ;) And thanks for the honest critique.

  • Nymphomania says:

Thanks for taking the time to respond, it seems like you understand the process of sound shaping and the benefits of different flavors of distortion, and I am hearing subtleties in the production of this album that I missed before. I can certainly respect your decisions with respect to digital distortion.

I love industrial music, and have felt for a long time that there should be more hybridization with other genres. I love the atmosphere and out-of-the-box, longform compositions found here. Some of those ring modulated synth lines are beautifully nasty. However, I’d certainly like to hear more of the ‘organic psychedelic elements’ you mentioned. That seems to me to be missing.

I look forward to hearing your full length. I give this one 4/5.

  • Nymphomania says:

I also like the way you are diversifying the rhythm of psytrance

  • Cynos says:

    This is beautiful.

  • Lagerbottoms says:

Fuck, this is amazing. Not necessarily music to dance to, but awesome to listen to. Those snares (I think) on Unnatural Growth, gives it kind of a Death Metal feel :D Really lovin that

  • via virus says:

no death metal more like black metal music industrial power noise etc …. its great

  • BPM Barbie says:

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, showstopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it
