In the project’s second full-length release, Rose Red Flechette assaults the ears with an ever-accelerating barrage of broken, poly-rhythmic dark psytrance rhythms, growling bass-lines, clanging industrial percussion, scathingly distorted beats, haunting ambiances and brain-breaking synth-work. The Aquarian Syndrome is a concept-driven work, a cyberpunk take on the oft-touted as glorious and peace-bringing Age of Aquarius, and journeys deep into the dark technological heart of humanity, from genetic and mechanical human augmentation and animal experimentation to nuclear cataclysm and everything in between. While the turning of the age promises the washing away of corrupt organized religions, the advent of scientific enlightenment, and awareness of the needs of humanity-at-large as opposed to individual, selfish desires, the nature of humanity to destroy and usurp may very well prevail as we head into this age of dehumanization, mechanical augmentation, corporate rule, tyrannical enforcement of anarchy, and cold rejection of emotion and the spirit in favor of advancement and progress at any and all costs. The further we distance ourselves from nature and our tribal past the more violently our machinations will cast us out of our concrete-paved, steel-coated, computer-driven, jail-broken garden of eden. Mastered by SooSpicey at Anomalistic Studios with artwork by Ash Brn.

This is the most masterfully produced album I’ve heard in years. Although I can hardly identify with the artist on the approach to the modern ethical problems, I definitely enjoy the skill with which the music is composed. I’ve added it to a collection of the genre, in which I am generally not interested much, to appreciate the best the music of this genre has to offer.

I love Rose Red Flechette’s stuff, I’ve been listening to Disenlightenment on repeat for ages…

  • Flechette for president.

  • Absolutely freaking killer. So much comtemplative meaning and symbolism deep within here. The best I’ve heard from RRF yet ;)

  • R666 says:

    kick ass!

  • Very happy with people’s reactions to this. Agree or disagree (…though I didn’t deliberately try to pose cut-and-dry agree/disagree statements here!) I’m glad it was provocative, or evocative. I just wanted to make a cyberpunk scenario with a ton of spiritual/mythological motifs, and the most industrial album possible using the most psychedelic sounds. ;)

    Really exellent work

When i first heard “Disenlightenment” I was very intrigued but could barely listen it until the end. But then, time after time, I would come back to listen to it again and with each new hearing the tracks became more and more enjoyable. I guess I finally understood your music :)

This new one is your best work so far, in my opinion. The amount of effort and dedication you must have put into this project is clearly paying off, beacuse you’re clearly getting better and better!

You’re genious! The symbolism of your work is amazing..
    Please continue!
