The fourth album release from German netlabel Cyan Music is Steht Drauf by Musik Magier (Hannes-Joshua Thor Barthel). Hailing from Schleswig-Holstein, this producer fuses Teutonic progressive grooves and colourful full-on psytrance with a special flavour inspired by the pre-Y2K party sound. The resulting pastiche is an unusual blend of elements characterized by chugging bass lines, tricky breaks, and spiralling melodies influenced by the magic of the old school Goa trance style. Different and unusual!

“Kein Fester Gegendstand” should be “Kein Fester Gegenstand”.
That track also is a keeper for me. The others are too dry and mechanised for my taste.

Whoa… This dude’s method of musical arrangement is nice! I don’t go for the slower, “fluffy” sounds of your typical downtempo trance, but this guy somehow pulls it off very well and then combines it with full-on in an intelligent, well designed way. More from this artist, please!!
