From Life To Light is a stunning new concept album by N.O.M (Giannis Karanikas), a Greek psytrance producer who stepped onto the world stage with the release of The Nature Of The Mind in 2008. Released by Helicon Sound System Records, this album explores paradoxes of the sensory realm and the concept of transcendence, asking the listener to consider what it is that we see when we gaze upon the cosmos: the universe, or a distorted reflection of ourselves, as seen through a smoky piece of glass? “Can humans escape from this prison? This album is AMAZING. Thank you so much for the new sounds. THIS is psychedelic trance.
Oy Vey. This is an unique and original approach to experimental/downtempo/progressive/dark-psy! This album does it all in nice, bite-sized pieces, and it is a really neat and well-done work of art. Unlike most releases, this one is up there with the very few successful concept albums: Ubar Tmar’s Macrometasomakosmos, where you were literally beat down with 89 hard-core trance tracks, each of them 35 to 55 seconds long. Another is Principle of Flight’s Nighttime Lullabies, which is a great storytelling Psy-trance classic. This particular album starts very slowly with some sweet downtempo, and then picks up into the progressive in track 2, so then by track 7 and onward, you are blazing into some insane dark-psy territory. Should I say more? This one made my day. Download!!

Haven’t given this a proper listen yet, but after skimming through it, the style and production (especially the more uptempo tracks) really reminds me of Cybernetika at times. Which is a GOOD THING! Haven’t rated it yet, but I can already tell this one will be in my playlist for quite some time! Great work to all involved, really high quality release!
It’s a wonderfull psychedelic journey, as dark as enlightened, breathtaking melodies I love especially STEP 5 that shows me really clear pictures and deep pleasure… excellent artist I enjoyed this journey !
