Ego Killer is the latest blast of progressive energy from Open Source and Ghost Label Records, Greece. This 80-minute journey is meant to elevate the listener to a new level of awareness reflecting the overwhelming growth in popularity of highly emotional, melodic trance. Unique melodies and abstract instruments combine to create a sentient musical dose of life-and-death bliss, allowing you to explore the edges of consciousness.
Death is not frightening, for it would seem frightening to Socrates if indeed it was. During the short breath of existence that we call life, a man’s instinct provokes him to be loved, and if not loved to be admired, and if not admired to be respected, and if not respected to be feared, and if not feared to be hated. Whitewashed from his biological necessities, a man without ego quietly awaits his ending to fulfill his destiny.

Killer !!
A very cheesy & cliched, lowest common denominator kind of big room prog sound, hardly distinguished from mainstream uplifting trance. Tracks like “Too Weird to Live” use literally the same lines from Fear & Loathing that have been in use since 1999 by the TIP.World crew & others. The samples in many of these euphoric, anthemic trance tunes are often of angry, political rants from movies, and feel distracting and out of place enough that I doubt I would spin any of these songs. Aside from the samples, the tone of the music is quite unserious, to the point of being a fault; it has no real intensity or weight.
On the positive side, melodies are nice, the groove is solid, and the production has a big, bold punch. However the structure is predictable and simplistic, with the typical long breakdown at 3:30 of every song. There isn’t much layering or understanding of harmony exhibited, with sparse melodic elements typically presented individually. It lacks depth and distinctive emotion.
Artists like Gaudium or Ace Ventura have created much more effective ‘stadium prog’. IMO this is the shallow end of both ‘prog’ psy and psytrance as whole.
O blog só tem música boa
,mas hoje não posso deixar passar a capa deste album
que par de perna gostosa sexo bem gostoso.
What is the meaning of uplifting?
I will download the album in a minute. And I admit those legs brought me here
nymphomania i agree with you but Gaudium and Ace Ventura are the world’s best prog producers. And this is ektoplazm ! Have you seen Gaudium releasing his music here ? Why you expect producers of ektoplazm to be equal with the world’s best producers ? That comparison you did was actually a compliment for Open Source.
What is the meaning of the cover? Is this only sexist or should it be like some kind of subversive? Reproducing steroetypes is the opposite of personal freedom. We should break fetishizing stereotypes and not reproduce them.
Those are simply 2 beautiful legs that can hurt someone’s ego. You have to be a man in order to get the meaning.
Nice steps
playing together with ARISE the SubGenius

another album spoilt by samples of men shouting. Really. why shout over otherwise beautiful music?
