Elephant Head Records bounces back with a new release by label owner Smoke Sign (Krysalis Moon) entitled In Too Deep. This release explores uncharted territory: psychedelic trance with strong house influences, or simply “psyhouse”. Smoke Sign combines dreamy rhodes, retro stabs, deep and jack house style percussion with melodic leads, twisted future sounding FX, lush pads and organic hand drums creating a fully rounded blend of house and psytrance that is tell tale to a trancer raised in a house city. Featuring a collaboration with Aaron Jackson. Mastered by Keamia with artwork by Woodie.

Definite house influence here (most prominent in track 2 which just a bit too housey for me). However there isn’t such use of “minimal” sounds that would prompt one to stick the Prog Trance label on the release. An insight into a slightly more melodic and softer side of Smoke Sign.
